Blisters and Honor: 40 Miles, No Support, on BG Darby's Final March for America's 250th
Six U.S. troops based in Germany marked America's 250th Independence Day by completing the unassisted Darby 40 Miler at Lake Garda, Italy — retracing BG William O. Darby's final route in extreme heat. The march honors Darby and 25 soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division still listed as missing since April 30, 1945. A surprise welcome from Association Benàch awaited them at the finish, where Capt. Javier Pino called it "a humbling tribute and an experience we will never forget.

Ranger Hall of Fame veteran Jeff Struecker visits WWII site in Italy where founder of the Rangers was killed

Andrew Dayton retraces his grandfather's path through the battlefields of Lake Garda and honours the men who liberated the eastern shores of the lake in April 1945. Andrew's grandfather Samuel Gray Dayton a soldier of Company H of the 86th Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division (the American Alpini), who liberated the towns on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, including Nago-Torbole.
