Associazione Benach's mission is to document and develop awareness of historical events in order to encourage engagement and preserve the historical heritage of Nago-Torbole
OUR VISION
The association's vision is to cultivate understanding, awareness, and pride in the history of the Trentino region among local and global communities, such as our Sister City of Fort Smith, AR. /10th Mountian Division & Ranger Community
WHAT WE DO
Our work includes organizing memorial events, individual and group historical tours (civilian and military "Staff Rides", publishing books, and WWI / WWII archaeology, where we have gained a reputation for our air crash discoveries and research, 10th Mountain Division,
hosting community events, and researching other essential parts of the region's history
OUR GOAL
A museum based in the area where combat for the 10th Mountain Division finished on May 2, 1945. A place to remember and honor all those that died fighting for freedom.
A museum to showcase the WWI and WWII archaeological research and artefacts found by Benach in the last decade.
A place to learn about the civilian life during WWII.
A place to reflect on the heavy losses that occurred on both sides and on the fact that starting a war is easy, whereas finishing it (organising a surrender) is much harder.
In memory of the 25 men who died on 30 April 1945 when their amphibious craft 'DUKW' sank crossing from Torbole to Riva del Garda.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
In partnership with the Trentino Historical Museum Foundation, we recall the the bloody battle that took place in April 1945 between the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division (USA) and the German soldiers attested in over sixty bunkers of the Blaue Linie. A photographic exhibition, guided tours and a march help us remember the heroic American soldiers who fought in this region.
